Dear people,
Firstly, we have had two more requests for phone support, both gentlemen. The first is interested in history and reading (especially biographies), music and good food. The second is ex-military, interested in cinema, food, theatre, amateur dramatics and sports, especially rugby and American football.
As always, please get back to me if you could explore contacting either of these people. Remember that just talking is not a commitment to keep on contacting them - it’s fine if you have a conversation or two and decide that you don’t really get on, just let me know.
A few people have still not responded to the questions, and a few more have not yet told me if you are happy for me to contact you about urgent requests – possibly asking for a response the same day. We have had a few of those, and I don’t want to irritate you with unnecessary questions if you don’t have that flexibility, but equally well I don’t want to assume you can’t help in those situations.
So, please, if you have not done so, let me know if you are happy receiving urgent requests. The more people who might be able to respond, the better the chance we can find someone who is able to do so.
On Tuesday 9 June, we received an email asking us to let the Council know about our current availability. If you didn’t receive this, please let me know: it probably indicates either that the signup process is not yet complete, or there is another problem, but either way it would be helpful to know about it.
Finally, for those who have not yet responded, here are those questions again – please let me know whether or not you have:
If you have any questions, or need any support in what you are doing, or if you are unable to continue volunteering, please let me know. Whatever it is, thank you very much for all your work.
All the best,
Paul.
